Dr. Gwyneth Ingram is fundamentally interested in how developing cells and tissues communicate. After obtaining a PhD at the John Innes Centre (England), she carried out a postdoc in Lyon (France) characterizing epidermis-regulating transcription factors in plant embryos. This stimulated an interest in how chemical and mechanical cues acting between seed compartments influence their development. She investigated this question first as Royal Society Fellow at the University of Edinburgh (Scotland), and subsequently at the Plant Reproduction and Development laboratory in Lyon. More recently I have been addressing related questions in developing anthers.
