Doctor from the University of Paris-Orsay in plant physiology, Nathalie GIGLIOLI-GUIVARC'H was recruited at the University of Tours in 1996. Today, professor and director of the EA2106 Biomolecules and Plant Biotechnologies (BBV) laboratory of the University of Tours, she develops research on the knowledge and identification of the specialized metabolisms of medicinal plants and on the development of metabolic engineering and biotechnological processes for the bioproduction of molecules of pharmacological interest (alkaloids), cosmetics or for phytosanitary applications (phenolic compounds). She is also the coordinator and president of the national MétaSP network bringing together many French laboratories dedicated in specialized plant metabolism.
