Guillaume Tcherkez

IRHS Angers

G. Tcherkez is Professor at the University of Angers and Emeritus Professor at ANU (Australian National University). His research interests include plant metabolomics and fluxomics, isotope effects and enzyme mechanisms, photosynthesis, photorespiration and the control of day respiration. His work on the chemical mechanism of Rubisco has been awarded the bronze medal of the CNRS in 2009. He is presently part of the team Seedling Metabolism and Stress at IRHS (Research Institute for Horticulture and Seeds) and co-chair of the isotopic facility of the region Pays de la Loire (Plateforme Ligérienne d'Isotopie), with Illa Tea (University of Nantes). His latest work deals with the relationship between natural 13C isotope abundance in grains, harvest index and respiration use efficiency.
