Guilhem Desbrosses is Professor at the Faculty of Sciences of the University of Montpellier. There, he teaches, amongst other topics, plant symbiosis to BSc and MSc students. He his also coordinating four different MSc programs in Plant Biology. His research mostly focuses on how soil beneficial microbes do affect Arabidopsis thaliana root development and its adaptive response to nutrient deficiencies (such as nitrate and more recently iron). He is also interested in how the organic matter present in the soil influences the microbiome as well as the availability of nutrients to the plant.
